The New York State Museum 2nd Annual Classic Horror Movie Festival with Special Guest Betsy Palmer
The 2nd Annual New York State Museum Classic Horror Movie Festival took place on Saturday, November 11th and featured screenings of four classic horror films. The films shown were "The Shining" (1980), "Poltergeist" (1982), "The Lost Boys" (1987),
& "Friday the 13th" (1980). The festival was hosted by Upstate New York independent filmmakers Joe Bagnardi, Bruce G. Hallenbeck and I. This year we were happy to welcome as our special guest Ms. Betsy Palmer of Friday the 13th fame. Fans of that seminal 1980's slasher film remember her well as the vengeful Mrs. Pamela Voorhees (Jason's mom), and many others no doubt remember her various roles on stage, television and in films dating back to the 1950's. It was truly a joy to have this amazing woman at the festival and listen to her talk about her involvement with Friday the 13th. Betsy was also incredibly gracious to the fans who attended, chatting and posing for pictures after the showing. Below are some photos from the festival. Enjoy!

The New York State Museum 2006 Independent Film Festival
The New York State Museum 2006 Independent Film Festival, held on October 28th, was a 12-hour movie marathon celebrating locally-produced independent films in Upstate New York's Capital Region. In deference to Halloween, there was an emphasis on horror films, however other film genres were showcased as well. This festival was a follow-up of sorts to The Dead Of Winter Free Film Festival held at the museum in January of 2005.
Features shown were from Bruce G. Hallenbeck, Joe & Dan Masucci and Joe Bagnardi. There were also some world premieres: the feature-length psychological ghost story "The Drowned" from Bruce G. Hallenbeck, and my own short comedy "Of Theatre & Bikinis". I also premiered the "You Gotta Believe" music video I directed for Upstate New York-based singer Katrina Marie. A panel discussion which included many of the filmmakers was held near the end of the day, and the festival garnered some nice media attention in the form of television coverage from news channel Capital News 9.
I'd like to thank everybody who attended The New York State Museum 2006 Independent Film Festival. Your support of independent filmmaking in Upstate New York's Capital Region is greatly appreciated! Here's hoping we can do it again next year. Some photos from the festival are below. Enjoy!

The Blood, Fangs & Claws Halloween Film Fest
The Blood, Fangs & Claws Film Fest took place on October 31st (Halloween) at the Madison Theater in Albany, New York. The festival was a night of b-movie fun organized by Upstate New York independent filmmaker Michael Kazlo II. The festival featured two showings of Mike's vampire-action feature "Bloodlust", along with two showings of my own vampire feature "The Temptress". Mike and I hosted Q&A sessions after the showings of our respective films, and everybody who came out received a free honorary vampire hunter license. Also, several of the actors from the movies were on hand as well.
Thanks go out to festival organizers Bruce & Rosa Hallenbeck and Pat Whalen for putting the whole thing together. I'd also like to thank Dan Bailey for the videography of this event.
